About this course
This is part 1 of the courses on how to set up Snowplow on the Google Cloud Platform.
We are using Snowplow's quick start guides for this, which makes it pretty straightforward.
In this part, we will set up the Iglu server. This server holds and serves the event schema we need for the pipeline. In part two, we set up the pipeline.
One of the key differences between Snowplow and other analytics solutions is that Snowplow works with an explicit schema. You define what you want the data to look like. And Snowplow checks it for you, loading only data that matches the schema. If it doesn't, the data isn't gone, it's just held in a separate pipeline for you to decide what to do with.
