Google Analytics 4 Fast Track migration

How to migrate to Google Analytics 4, fast.

Google Analytics 4 Fast Track migration

Don’t get us wrong; we don’t talk about a limited, low-quality migration and setup of Google Analytics 4.

We talk about a focused, lean, and extensible approach to setting up Google Analytics.

Because let’s be clear: There is no actual migration from Google Analytics universal to Google Analytics 4.

Both are two fundamentally different systems.

So, it’s a new setup.

Is Google Analytics 4 even the right tool for me?

That is a great question. There should be no hasting into new analytics systems. And let’s be clear GA4 is a new setup.

So we also include that we check together if GA4 is the best solution for your situation. What happens if not? We will recommend different systems for you, and when you decide on one, we will continue with the fast track but just for another system.

But what about all the things we already have in Google Analytics universal?

We don’t simply copy what you have into a new account. We take a step back. This is a new setup, so a good time to revisit your design and make sure you track the right things and do this in high data quality.

How do we set up your new GA4 account fast?

We have been doing tracking and analytics setups for over eight years. And we discovered one learning: There are usually 8-10 core events that measure your whole business. They define the key moments of your customer lifecycle. These are the ones that need to be implemented solid and bulletproof. These core events also need constant monitoring.

What about all the other events?

They can be added in steps over time. They usually track product feature usage. This is essential data when you work on these features to improve them. Beyond that, they are not necessary to make business decisions.

What is the timeline for a new Google Analytics 4 setup?

We offer two different tracks:

- Superfast implementation sprint in 1 week

- Fast implementation over 3-4 weeks

Superfast implementation sprint

We use the design sprint format to implement an initial GA4 set up in just one week.

This requires complete focus from your side and us. You need the relevant business stakeholders available for two workshops. You need to be able to make quick decisions about the setup (no worries, we help with that). You need at least one development resource full-time for 3-4 days.

That’s it. We made these sprints already with different setups, and they work surprisingly well.

Fast implementation over 3-4 weeks

If you can’t focus your resources on one week, we spread the whole process over 3-4 weeks. But the approach and scope of work stay the same.
